“It's the possibility of
having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
It was raining; I had hot tea in my favorite mug and
was enjoying the sound of rain mixed with my playlist in the background. The
cool breeze brushed through my hair and my eyes suddenly landed on the pack of
paintbrushes at my desk, still untouched waiting for me. I was never very good
at painting but now and then I kept dabbling with colors. But my exciting years
at college and busy ones at job managed to take this away from me.
About two years ago, I suddenly had the urge to get
up and start painting again, with whatever tools I had at my disposal. I sat at
my desk and decided that no matter how bad I am at it, I will never stop
painting again!!
There is nothing wrong or right when it comes to
creativity. You can put your imagination and your creative brain to work and
make great useful/decorative works of art that you never imagined. You don’t
have to be a trained professional or a student of some fancy course. You might
screw up once or twice, (& trust me you learn a lot more when you screw
your work) but the trick is to never give up. Creativity is like a muscle - use
it regularly and it gets stronger, else you won't be ready when inspiration
strikes. Be it painting, ceramics, glass, textiles, interiors, gardening,
fashion; everything needs just your creative juices flowing.
All you need is “ZEST” for art.
“When you
want something, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
From a fashion blogger to a painter everyone needs
to constantly develop their talent, they get hooked and addicted to the work
they do in time. And that addiction and love towards their work makes them soar
high above others. Why are there only a few renowned painters while painting
almost everyone does as a child? Why do we have limited number of good authors
when majority of the population know how to read and write? Why do we look up
to fashion gurus when we all have our own sense of style? You can be that painter, author, fashion
blogger or whatever you decide to be if you just put your heart at it. Have
faith in the young experimenting child inside you and soon you will find the
right path.
Every time I am working on some craft or piece of
art or blog; I feel relaxed and excited, content and accomplished, happy and
powerful. The drudgery of office work or exhaustion from daily mundane chores is
extremely draining at times; all I need then is a cup of my favorite tea with
my creative corner of the room and I bounce back with energy and ideas and
happy emotions. Regular practice at crafting helps improve your memory, health,
concentration & reduce stress. Art allows you to release pent-up energy and
frustration; it makes you a happier and accomplished person. While crafting
could potentially crowd out more important aspects of your life, it could be
the reason other aspects of your life aren’t taking over you.
It is never too late or too early to bring forth
your creative self.
“People are
capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of.”
Do what you want,
Love what you want,
Live what you want;
Till you become what you want..
Love what you want,
Live what you want;
Till you become what you want..
Good Luck!!
